Swedish wood, i.e. Scandinavian red pine timber, in the form of deck flooring, i.e. planks with comb on one side, that are impregnated (usually in a brown impregnation color), is one of the most popular timber choices for many outdoor uses.
The dimensions of the deck boards are 21mm thick and 120-125mm wide. Their lengths are usually from 2.40 m. up to 5.10 meters.
What are the main uses of Dec
a)Deck outterritory
The planks of the deck are placed as a floor in yards, surrounding areas, garden corridors, in the area around the swimming pool, on the floors of terraces, balconies, etc., bothin homes as well as in business premises.
b)Deck for fencing and gates
Τοποθετούνται τόσο σε μεταλλικό σκελετό (κοιλοδοκοί γαλβανισμένοι) όσο και σε ξύλινο σκελετό (καδρόνια εμποτισμένα). Οι τάβλες ντεκ τοποθετούνται για περίφραξη σε μανδρότοιχους, για διαχωριστικά σε αυλές, σε βεράντες, σε φράκτες, σαν κάγκελα σε περιβάλλοντες χώρους κατοικιών και χώρων εστίασης, σε αυλόπορτες κατοικιών κλπ.
Their installation can be done both between concrete columns and by placing them on metal columns (simple and galvanized joists, aluminum, etc.) or wooden columns.

e) The side of the deck board, where the comb is, is placed on the side of the floor that we step on, so that the floor is non-slip.
Modes of safe placement
Alternatively, there is the possibility of placing the decks, both on a metal frame (belly beams) and on wooden frames.
a)On the floor
. The maximum distance (i.e. gaps) between joists, whether wooden or metal,must not be more than 30cm.
. The joists that will be placed on the floor should be inserted in such a way thatnot to blockthe flow of rainwater (not against the slope and retain the water).
. Before the deck boards are installed, they should be maintainedon their back. It is good to pay special attention to the additional maintenance of the back side of the decks, because in the future it will be impossible to do it again after they are installed. For wood preservation, we recommend the products of the Danish company BONDEX, which are readily available in our company.

Στα σημεία που θα εφάπτεται η τάβλα ντεκ με τον κοιλοδοκό, καλό θα είναι, να τοποθετηθεί κόλλα εξωτερικής χρήσης D3, ή να παρεμβάλλεται κάποιο λάστιχο ή ειδική ταινία, ώστε να μην υπάρχει άμεση επαφή μεταξύ τους. Αυτό γίνεται προληπτικά, προκειμένου με την πάροδο των χρόνων, ακόμα και αν οξειδωθεί ο κοιλοδοκός, να μην καταστρέψει η οξείδωση του κοιλοδοκού τις τάβλες ντεκ στο σημείο επαφής τους.
The hollow beams, which we will choose, must have sufficient width and appropriate cross-sections, so that the deck board can be securely screwed onto them.Especially in the associations, there must be proper pressing of the deck board on the hollow beam.
. If wooden crates are used, they should be of good quality and impregnated in order to withstand outdoor use. All the rest that we mentioned in the previous paragraph also apply.
. The gap that will exist between the deck boards of the floor should always be of constant width (eg 1cm). We achieve this when placing the decks, using fixed spacers.
. The screws to be used should be suitable for decking.
. Όταν υπάρχουν στο πάτωμα ντεκ ενώσεις, δεν θα πρέπει ο αρμός να είναι συνεχόμενος, δηλαδή στην ίδια ευθεία. Είναι κατασκευαστικά εσφαλμένο. Το ορθό είναι, το κοντό κομμάτι των σανίδων του ντεκ να τοποθετείται στην ένωση των σανίδων,τη μια φορά από τη μια πλευρά της σειράς και στην επόμενη σειρά από την ακριβώς αντίθετη πλευρά της σειράς του δαπέδου, έτσι ώστε η ένωση των σανίδων ντεκ να μη βρίσκεται στην ίδια ευθεία (δηλαδή να γίνεται τοποθέτηση “πλεκτό”).
b)On the fence and the gates
. The maximum distance between the columnsshould not exceed 90cm.
This is done in order to make the construction safe and to avoid warping or possible bending etc. of the deck boards in the future.
. The space you will leave between the horizontal rows of the fence decks should not exceed half the width of the deck board. (If the deck board is 12cm wide, the gap should not be more than 6cm). Of course, this oneit's a matter of aesthetics and pure customer choice.
But the minimum gap you leave must beis 1.00-1.5cm aboutand this is necessary, in order to pass the air between the deck boards, so that the fence or the gate does not suffer any damage from the force of the wind (wind pressures).
. Everything we mentioned in previous paragraphs about maintenance, screws, applying glue for external use, etc., also applies to fencing and gates.
.
